Lamboville Library is a for-profit social enterprise registered in the State of Georgia. We operate a curated community lending library, membership programmes, educational programmes, digital products, and publishing services.
2. What Information We Collect
We collect two types of information — information you give us directly and information we collect automatically when you use our website or services.
2.1 Information You Give Us Directly
When you create a membership account:
- Full name of account holder
- Email address
- Postal address
- Phone number
- Names and ages of children on the membership
- Membership tier selected
- Payment information — processed securely through Stripe or our payment processor. We do not store your full card details directly.
- How you heard about Lamboville Library
When you borrow books:
- Your member number and CSCS account details
- Books borrowed, dates borrowed, and return dates
- Borrowing history across all sessions of your membership
When you register for a programme or event:
- Name and contact details of all attendees
- Ages of children attending
- Any dietary requirements or access needs you choose to share
- Emergency contact information where required for children’s programmes
When you contact us:
- Your name and email address
- The content of your message and any attachments you send
When you subscribe to our newsletter:
- Your email address
- Your first name where provided
When you make a purchase:
- Billing name and address
- Email address
- Order details and payment information — processed securely through our payment provider
When you complete a Story Prescription or Curriculum Consultation:
- Information about your family’s reading interests and needs
- Information about your children’s ages, learning styles, and current season
- Any personal context you choose to share to help us serve you better
2.2 Information We Collect Automatically
When you visit our website we may automatically collect:

To manage your membership: Processing your membership application, issuing your library card and story passport, managing your borrowing account, and communicating with you about your membership.
To process payments: Charging the correct membership fee, processing event or programme payments, and issuing receipts and invoices.
To deliver our programmes and services: Registering you for programmes and events, managing class sizes and waitlists, communicating programme details and changes, and delivering Story Prescription and Curriculum Consultation services.
To manage your borrowing: Tracking books borrowed and returned, sending overdue reminders, and managing reservations made through our online catalogue.
To communicate with you: Sending membership updates, event announcements, new collection notifications, our monthly newsletter, and responses to your enquiries.
To improve our services: Understanding how our website is used, which programmes are most valued, and how we can better serve our community.
To fulfil legal obligations: Maintaining financial records as required by Georgia and federal law, responding to lawful requests from regulatory authorities, and protecting our legal rights where necessary.
To personalise your experience: Recommending books based on your borrowing history, tailoring Story Prescriptions to your family’s specific needs, and recognising you as a valued member of our community.
To market our services: Sending you information about new collections, upcoming programmes, and membership opportunities — where you have given us permission to do so.
4. Photography, Videography, and Media at Events
4.1 Our Right to Use Event Media
Lamboville Library may photograph, video record, or otherwise capture media during programs, gatherings, workshops, events, and community activities. By attending Lamboville events or participating in Lamboville programs, you grant Lamboville Library and its representatives the irrevocable right and permission to:
- Photograph, record, and capture your image, voice, likeness, and participation
- Use photographs, video recordings, audio recordings, and other media for lawful purposes
- Reproduce, publish, display, distribute, edit, modify, or otherwise use such media in whole or in part
Such use may include, but is not limited to:
- Website content
- Social media
- Marketing and promotional materials
- Printed publications
- Digital publications
- Educational materials
- Newsletters
- Advertising campaigns
- Future publications and projects
You understand and agree that:
- No compensation will be provided for such use
- Media may be used without further notice
- Media may remain in use indefinitely
- Lamboville Library retains ownership rights in materials created by or for Lamboville
Parents or guardians attending with minors represent and warrant that they have authority to consent on behalf of their children.
4.2 Children at Events
We take the safety and privacy of children at our events with the utmost seriousness.
- We will never publish the full name of a child alongside their photograph without explicit written parental consent
- We will never tag children by name on public social media platforms without explicit written parental consent
- Images of children will only be used in ways that are dignified, appropriate, and consistent with our values
- We will never sell images of children to third parties
- We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without parental or guardian consent where required.
- Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children’s participation in our services and events.
- Lamboville Library operates a strict child safeguarding policy. All children attending our programmes and events must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times unless explicitly arranged otherwise in writing in advance. Where a child is found unaccompanied, unsupervised, or in circumstances that raise reasonable safeguarding concerns — Lamboville Library staff are authorised and obligated to take the following steps in order: attempt to contact the registered parent or guardian, contact emergency services where there is immediate risk to the child’s safety, and contact the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) where welfare concerns cannot be immediately resolved. Our staff are not liable for any action taken in good faith to protect the safety and welfare of a child in our care.
- If you believe information has been collected improperly, please contact us and we will promptly investigate.
4.3 Opting Out of Photography
If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed at a Lamboville Library event — or if you do not wish your children to be photographed or filmed — you must notify us in writing before the event by emailing lambovillelibrary@gmail.com with the subject line PHOTO OPT OUT and the name of the event and the date.
We will make every reasonable effort to honour your opt-out request. However we cannot guarantee that you will not appear incidentally in the background of photographs or recordings taken at public events. Where we become aware that an opted-out individual appears identifiably in an image intended for publication we will make reasonable efforts to exclude or obscure that image before publication.
4.4 Media You Share With Us
If you share photographs or videos with Lamboville Library — through social media, email, or any other channel — you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use that media in our marketing and promotional materials, with credit to you where appropriate and where you have requested it.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent your personal information. We do not trade your personal information. Ever.
We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
Service providers: We work with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate our business — including our payment processor, email marketing platform, booking system, and website host. These providers have access only to the information necessary to perform their specific function and are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purpose for which it was shared.
Legal requirements: We may disclose your information where required to do so by law — including in response to a valid court order, subpoena, or government request — or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person or to protect our legal rights.

We do not send unsolicited commercial email. We will not add you to our mailing list without your explicit consent.
9. Children’s Privacy
Lamboville Library serves families with children and we take the privacy of children with particular seriousness.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13 without verified parental consent
- All personal information relating to children in our programmes is collected from and managed with the parent or legal guardian of that child
- Parents and guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child’s personal information at any time by contacting us at lambovillelibrary@gmail.com
- We do not use children’s personal information for marketing purposes
- We do not share children’s personal information with third parties except where strictly necessary to deliver the services their parent or guardian has enrolled them in

The right to deletion: You may request that we delete your personal information — subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain certain records.

The right to data portability: You may request that we provide your personal information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
The right to withdraw consent: Where we process your information on the basis of your consent you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

We retain your personal information for as long as your membership is active and for a reasonable period thereafter — typically three years — to allow us to respond to any queries or disputes that may arise after your membership ends.
Financial records are retained for a minimum of seven years as required by US tax law.
Borrowing records are retained for the duration of your membership and deleted within 12 months of membership ending unless you request earlier deletion.
Event photography and media are retained indefinitely for archival and marketing purposes unless you have exercised your opt-out rights under Section 4.3.
12. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites — including our payment processor, booking platform, and social media channels. This Privacy Policy applies only to Lamboville Library’s own website and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party website and encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our services, or applicable law. When we make material changes we will notify you by email and update the Last Updated date at the top of this page.
